Introduction to Over the Edge
I am sure that when Columbine happened it made me realize that all is not well in the world. When teens start shooting teens you begin to think that your problems may not be so bad. I know that throughout college and after college life was exciting and fun but not without its stressful times. Holding it together during those rough patches is the norm for most of us but for the few that cannot deal the following poem may describe what goes on in their minds. The most important item you should get out of it is that you, the outsider, need to pay attention to those that do not appear to have their act together for they are the ones that are most dangerous. Hope you enjoy the next poem as is goes down as one of my favorites.

When the sun creeps down
When the sun creeps down
At the side of the earth
It is at that point we learn
What the next day is worth
For the many colors
Perceived from this glorious sight
Gives the knowledge of a new day
Which we sleep on at night
It is the sun that is beet red
You can expect the heat to rise
Where the children rely on mischief
And the parents justify their cries
And if the sun is everlasting yellow
The next day will remain the same
For when it is our fault today
Tomorrow is recognition of who’s to blame
But it is the sun you cannot see set
That is the time to be aware
For when the clouds have a hidden agenda
Surely we will be the worst for the wear
So when the sun creeps down at the side of the earth
And at that point you learn what the next day is worth
Remember to hope for the colors and understand
That it is not you in charge, but the sun that’s in command

Introduction to When The Sun Creeps Down
When college ended I moved out to California and began my “career” life. I found out I had a lot of difficulty fitting into corporate America. I also ran into much trouble trying to figure out who were my friends and who were out to just use me. I started to believe that there were outside forces that would determine the outcome of my life, my decisions, and my relationships. Religion was not something I ever felt comfortable with but I knew that God existed. The next poem discusses an outside force that I created just to enforce this belief that many events thrust upon us in our lifetime are through no control of our own.

The Proverbs
In a world lacking communication
Only mind readers prosper
When we look to stretch the truth
We only wind up expanding the lie
If you realize your expectation is too high
You have just taken the 1st step toward meeting your goal
